ALL-CITY MEN ON TEAM: Bussenius comes to the Hilltop this month and with him are some of the bright prospects who were his pupils. They include Don Giesen and Jack Horn, who along with Ivan Slavich, comprise the former All-City cagers. Returning from the United States Armed Forces will be William Gibson, who played under Jim Needles and Forrest Twogood. Also coming to the Hilltop will be Galileo's Varsity All-City, Dolph Pippus, a remarkable athlete, and George Boicelli, former Don 1941 star.

Sauntering about the pool tables I came up to John Desmond, USF's sparkplug cage star, and the boys. Chatting with Desmond were fellows whom you all know as the city's top-notch cage stalwarts such as: Jack Flaherty, Harold Beveridge, Billy Gibson, Jim Steen, Kenny Robinson, Homer Neilson, Al Pirak, Bill Cammerer, Dave Rankin, Jack Horn, Bob Goethols, Walter Kolling, and Lou Parent all huddled around pool table number 3, cajoling each other. Scoring ace Leroy Peters, behind the counter, was working as Chef in the Green and Gold Kitchenette (TheFoghorn).
