Despite the fact that the Don passers were given plenty of time to get set, they heaved the ball into the dirt or far beyond the reach of the receiver on more than one occasion. Only on the touchdown play was a pass executed cleanly and deceptively. One of the deeper mysteries of the day was why Vasco Pucci and Walt Dietz were relegated to the bench. It seems that Pucci, last season's high scorer and greatest ground gainer, and Dietz, the squad's best defensive end, would have showed to great advantage against the Rattlers. Coach Bob Kleckner and his Freshman squad put up a great battle in losing to the powerful Humboldt State eleven last Sunday at Eureka (TheFoghorn).
