Harold Jensen was born on January 14, 1924, in Petaluma and attended his local Petaluma High School. Jensen attended USF from 1942 to 1944, but interrupted his college education to serve in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed at Fort Bliss in Texas, and after the war, returned to USF. Jensen played football as team captain, and was elected Student Body President. In his senior year, he played in the East-West Shrine All-State Football game. 
 
Jensen graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor's in Economics and worked for 25 years in Industrial Relations, and in Human Resources for Kaiser Aluminum, specializing in contract negotiations. He retired in 1974, and was inducted into the USF Hall of Fame in 1977, and was awarded the Alumni Service Award in 1997.
