Member of the 1956-1957 and 1957-1958 teams…played in 28 games as a junior in 1956-1957 and averaged 7.3 points…scored 5.5 points a game as a senior in 1957-1958…native of Kansas City, MO who earned junior college All-America Honors at Hannibal-LaGrange before enrolling at USF.
Al Dunbar will start at the other guard spot with Brown. Dunbar, a 5' 11" senior from Hannibal-LaGrange JC and the Dons scrappy play-maker, is expected to turn in his usually calm and dependable performance. Gene Brown and Al Dunbar, comprise the most balanced club Woolpert has ever had. Due to this balance the USF mentor has decided to disband his usual tight system of play. This does not mean the Dons will be playing strict "playground basketball" because they have the same patterns as last year, but will rely more on the opportunities (TheFoghorn).
