One of the most encouraging aspects of last year's season was the play of several newcomers, such as Kelli Bryant who scored 5 goals, had 3 assists and appeared in all 20 games. Elise Tsugawa had 3 goals — including a dramatic game winner against San Diego State—and appeared in 19 games.

Elise Tsugawa lofted a shot from the top of the box with 2:02 remaining in regulation to earn the Dons a tie win the Aggies in two overtimes.

USF will also lose four other players as a result of NCAA regulations. The women's soccer guidelines stipulate that players are only allowed to participate in 20 games per season. Thus, defender Jenny Clabaugh, midfielders Felicia Brown and Elise Tsugawa, and forward Maggie Buckland are all now ineligible for the rest of the year (they played in several JV contests) (TheFoghorn).
