Lars Amundsen

  • Class
    1980
  • Honors
    Men's Soccer (1977-1979)
Amundsen was a native of Oslo, Norway and played soccer for the Dons from 1977 to 1979. He graduated in 1980 with a Bachelors in Marketing. He also played professionally for the Norwegian team Melhus G11-3. He currently owns a restaurant in Oslo.

Joining the strikers are midfielder Dae Olaveen, a 6' 2" freshman from Norway. Olavsen's experience on the National Team of Norway is expected to add depth to the midfield. In the defense, fellow Norwegian Lars Amundsen comes to help out at fullback, along with Dave Harvard from San Rafael and center half Nick Lambridis of Thesalonika, Greece. Finally to add depth to the defense, Andy Fry, formerly of College of Marin, will join Peter Arnautoff in the goalie position.

Regardless of the final game, the Soccer Dons deserve nothing but praise and adulation for representing this University in national competition. In a season that saw the Dons participate in 30 matches, Coach Negoesco led his Far West Regional Champions to an outstanding 25 wins, four losses, and one tie record. Every player contributed to the team's success, not just the Andy Atuegbus or Bjorn Dahls. Relatively unknown team members such as Javier Plasencia, Lars Amundsen, and Domingo Casanas contributed to this prospective championship team (TheFoghorn).
