Pitcher Chris Thogersen threw eight scoreless innings in a 12-0 shellacking of Sacramento State. San Francisco's infield features two All-Americans, a collection of All-WCC players and most importantly a potent offensive threat. Tagg Bozied will return to his first base position where he finished the 1998 season with a 15-game hitting streak. Bozied has already almost doubled his home run output this season after belting seven in as many games. Tony Hurtado, a 1997 All-American with a .338 career average and 11 home runs will see action at second base in his junior year. Newcomer Brandon Shepard will take over at shortstop in place of the departed David Meliah (TheFoghorn).
