Keith Bridwell graduated with a Degree in History in 1943. He was a three-sport athlete for the Dons: rugby, tennis and football. He was a member of the Block Club, and the U.S. Army Reserve, and was called to active duty after graduation.
Bridwell was an All-City fullback with the "eleven men of iron" at Galileo High School, who starred as a freshman and Varsity player at USF.
We didn't know it before, but we are told that California and Illinois are the only states in the union in which rugby is played, and any type of conference in the sport exists. On March 28th, a group of Northern California All-Stars journeyed to Los Angeles to trounce the Southern Cal All-Stars by a score of 16-6. USF was well represented on the squad by Keith Bridwell, Johnny Sanchez, Buzz McKnight and Ray Gennette. In view of the fact that over six clubs were represented on the team, the presence of four Dons on a team of fifteen is really all right. The entire quartet played the whole game (TheFoghorn).
