Yvonne Gómez is a figure skater who competed not only for the University of San Francisco, but also internationally for the United States and for Spain. Gómez represented Spain at the Winter Olympics in 1988, and at the World Championships in 1988 and 1989. Gómez was also a member of the United States International Team from 1983 to 1987 at two World University Games, and earned the bronze medal at the Winter Universiade in 1987. 

After her retirement, Gómez skated professionally on the Brian Boitano and Katarina Witt Ice Skating Tour from 1990 to 1992 in the United States and Canada, and had the role of Michaela in Horant H. Hohlfeld's Emmy winning 1990 HBO movie Carmen on Ice. 

Following her professional career, Gómez went back to school to get her Master's in Sport Psychology, and currently works in the USF Athletic Department for men's and women's basketball, baseball, tennis, cross country, track and field, golf, soccer, and volleyball.

Gómez also works with the San Francisco Elite Soccer Academy, Spanish Olympic Figure Skating Federation, University of New Mexico Volleyball, and individual athletes on the Symetra Golf Tour, European PGA, US International and National Figure Skating Team, Junior National Squash, Formula Russell car racing, Major League Soccer, and the United Soccer League.
