Coaches Bob Braghetta and Leo La Rocca's frosh baseballers ended their season with a smashing victory over the Treasure Island Pirates, 9-2, as they sent three Navy hurlers to the showers, and Tom Cutler boasted his batting average to .434. The frosh, finally coming into their own, have blasted their last two opponents for 19 runs while giving up only a stingy four. By downing the TI Navy, the Frosh extended their win streak to five games, giving them a season record of seven wins against six loses. At the plate, Tom Cutler, Bob Norton, and Bob McDonald have really been rapping the old apple, Norton batted .360 for the season and Cutler and McDonald tied in RBI's.

Lack of depth has been the main problem all season with this year's club. A good number of the players were pitchers in high school and have been converted to unfamiliar positions. In some games, coaches Bob Braghetta and Leo LaRocca have used as many as six pitchers at various positions at the same time. These necessary stop-gap measures are probably accountable for the fielding problems which have betrayed whichever of the hurlers who happens to be on the hill. The Frosh pack power in the batting department with four men sticking at over .300. Bill Cutler at .491 leads the squad, followed by Bob McDonald (.400), Costello (.357) and Bob Norton (.333). Outstanding defensively have been catcher Rich, Clarke and outfielder Norton, while three pitchers—O'Neill, Costello, and Arnie Calonje have accounted for the Dons three wins so far (TheFoghorn).
