The 1960 version of the Frosh basketball team unfolds tomorrow evening when they meet the Moffett Field Flyers. The game, scheduled to get underway at 8 p.m., will be played in Mt. View at the Naval Air Station. The Don yearlings, coached by Ross Guidice, is expecting a top season. With outstanding players at all positions, this year's squad should be tough against all comers. A pair of centers, who Guidice hopes will move on to the varsity next year, should be the big guns in the Don attack. Dave Lee and Hans Boeving, at 6-7, and both topping the scales at 220, are expected to be the top offensive stars for the Hilltoppers. Jake Crawford and Joe Lanfranco are the probable starting forwards with Jim DeRoos, Glenn Gaviglio, Al McCutchen, and Dick Piantadosi expecting to see plenty of action.
Now that the basketball season has drawn to a close, several basket dunkers have turned horsehide-tossers. Joining the pitching staff is center Dave Lee. A catcher on last year's varsity is junior bob Joyce. Also trying out as Paul Willard, sophomore outfielder, and Dick Pantadosi, sophomore first-baseman. With the bulk of the team as sophomores and juniors, head mentor McGlynn has excellent building prospects (TheFoghorn).
