Steve Hill . . . Hill comes to USF after an outstanding season at Long Beach Community College. In his only year there (he spent his freshman year as a football player at Illinois), Hill averaged 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds a game in the playoffs and was named to the All-State Tournament team. Hill played basketball and football at Altoff High School in Belleville, Illinois. He served as team captain at Long Beach, and helped lead them to a 30-7 record, including the "Vikings" defeat of State Champion El Camino, the only loss El Camino had all year. "Steve is a strong all-around athlete who can play both the inside or outside game," Brovelli said. "He's a powerful interior defensive player, who will give us much-needed strength inside," he concluded. This year. Long Beach CC awarded him the "Drawing the Charge Award (TheFoghorn)."
