Rex Aberle graduated from USF in 1993 with a degree in Kinesiology and played golf for the Dons. He is the Sales Manager at the Van Ruiten Family Winery in Lodi, CA.
Throughout the season, USF was led by pre-season All-American Todd Fischer who finished the regular season tour with the second best stroke average in the entire western region with 71.82 and a first-place finish at the Western Intercollegiate. USF is not a one-man team as John McMullen had a fall stroke average of 72 and three top-20 finishes, including 15th at Pacific and 10th at Stanford. David Kem posted a 16th-place finish at Stanford with a total of 220. Rex Aberle returned for the spring and shot a 227 at the Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii and a 226 at Guadalajara where he made the front page of the local daily city newspaper (TheFoghorn).
