George Couch was a member of Delta Sigma Pi and Scabbard and Blade. He graduated in 1954 in Marketing.

Couch was a native San Franciscan. His mother once said to him "You can go to any school you like as long as Muni takes you there." So naturally, he went to St. Ignatius and USF, both on the Muni line. He played basketball, worked in his parent's corner grocery store on Bush St, graduated with a degree in Business, and started a successful real estate company (SFChronicle).
