He worked in the family business of Real Estate and Property Management. He bought a ranch in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County. Later, in the early 70s, he bought the old Hoffman Ranch at the end of Hoffman Lane, where he planted vineyards and made wine (WeeklyCalistogan).

The following cadets were were awarded the bronze stars which are to be worn on the Green and Gold ribbon: Malcolm A. Anderson, Victor M. Camilongo, James G. DeMartini Jr., Leland E. Eckert, Donald F. Farbstein, Gerald J. Kilday, Roderick P. Martinelli, Holbrook T. Mitchell, Russel J. Moon, Francis B. Quinn and C. Allen Wall. Colonel Stuart announced that the Fall term Intra-battalion Drill Competition will take place this week. He explained that the companies will be drilled separately while judges will walk among them and eliminate men for errors until only the most proficient men in each squad remain. These men, according to the Colonel, will be given "Merits" which will go towards raising term grades of wiping out previous demerits. This type of competition," said the Colonel, "is valuable because it tends to build up team spirit in the squad, in addition to giving the individual cadets an opportunity to exhibit their improvement (TheFoghorn)."
