The fourth fullback position is virtually up for grabs between a number of lettermen Two men who appear as the top candidates are Kelly Hagan and Kevin Dineen. All-Conference performers John Miklewright and Lorenzo Cumplido head up a powerful mid-field line which will be complemented by two highly touted newcomers — Kiriakos Papagoglu of Athens, Greece, and Oscar Granados, originally of Honduras. Papagoglu comes to USF highly recommended from the Greek junior leagues. Negoesco looks to him as a real power in the mid-field along with the two veterans. The forward positions are indeed the deepest segment of the USF team with seven men in the running for starting positions.
At center back, USFs Oscar Granados proved himself to be dominant in the air and strong on the ground. Tom Tonstad also played a magnificent game that was a benefit to the team. After the USF team was set to take a stand they were able to control the ball through the efforts of mid-fielders Lencho, Complido, and John Mickleright (TheFoghorn).
