Kurtz-Reyes attended USF from 1994 to 1996 and played soccer for the Dons. He transferred to UCLA for 1997 to 1999, graduating with a Bachelor's in History. Kurtz-Reyes works as a real estate agent for All About Rio Imoveis, in Rio di Janeiro, Brazil.
Jason Wescott, sophomore Tim Weaver and Kurtz-Reyes, a freshman, anchored a strong defensive unit which has proven to be the Dons' stable of consistency thus far in 1994. With just three games left before the opening of WCC play, the Dons will look to put the finishing touches on team chemistry, something they'll need in order to compensate for the loss of star players like Shane Watkins.
The Dons have beaten the Broncos 10 of the last 11 times they have squared off, and SCU coach Mitch Murray (55-15-6) has yet to beat the Dons in nearly five years. "I'm hoping we're going to have a reasonable amount of people down there," said Head Coach Stephen Negoesco. "Honestly, it's been tough because USF crowds traditionally go with a winner," Thompson added. "I know we weren't putting a winner out there earlier this season, but we've turned things around and are excited about Santa Clara (TheFoghorn)."
