Jeanette Gomez, a USF senior majoring in Business, is the number one seed of the USF tennis team. As a 17-year old she competed in her native country, the Philippines, on the Federation Cup National team. One of the highlights of her experienced junior career was the opportunity to face Hana Mandlikova in the Federation Cup doubles competition when one of her teammates was unable to compete.

She came to USF on a tennis scholarship, the only men's or women's player to have one, and without any sense of what the program was like. She thought USF had a full scale program, and when she saw they did not, she put pressure an herself. "I felt I had something to prove my first year for USF. Now it's more routine, we play every Spring semester and I know the players we play against." But team member, Jeanette, at the number one singles position, remains the only unbeaten player with a 12-0 record, has a good chance of remaining undefeated the entire season (TheFoghorn).
