With the bases empty. Mauro Luvisotti hit his first home run of the series. Don Benedetti walked and Paul O'Leary singled. Dennis Yamamoto then struck out to end the inning. Ihe Dons scored again in the seventh when Benedetti walked with two men down. Paul O'Leary singled and both rode home on a triple by Yamamoto. It should be noted that Benedetti, the catcher, made a spectacular play in the top of the fifth inning. Dave Llanes singled up the middle and went to second on a sacrifice bunt. Grugato popped a short single in front of third base. Benedetti ran out to field the ball and instead of making a play at first, he caught Llanes half way between second and third. Don ran in between the runner and second. Llanes, in a run down, ran toward third but was tagged out by Benedetti who was right behind him. The unusualness of the play was the fact that a catcher ran all the way to second base to trap a player (TheFoghorn).
