Jim O'Brien was a native of San Rafael and graduated in Business in 1973.

Another frosh is Jim O'Brien, who gained over Chris Boyd, heir apparent to the vacated fullback spot, is shown maneuvering through two St. Mary's tacklers.

Jim O'Brien came on to break the tape first in the 100 yard dash with a good time of 10.5 seconds. O'Brien's win was one of the few in the sprints over the past few years—a good sign for the future. (TheFoghorn).
