This will be the second outing for the Horsehiders. Last Friday USF met a well rounded Cal-Poly nine and was defeated, 12-4. The big downfall of the Dons seemed to be in difficulty hanging on to the hot infield balls, although soph Al Kirkes put on a fine display at third as well as garnering two hits. In the game against the Indians, junior John O'Neil should get the nod for pitching honors. John, who sat out last week's game with case of the measles, is expected to be one of the main threats in the pitching staff of the Don lineup this season. Tomorrow afternoon, at 2:30, Dutch Anderson's nine will travel across the bay to Berkeley to tangle with the Golden Bears. Last year the Dons split with Cal in their two outings. Thursday, San Francisco State will be the scene of nine innings as the Green and Gold squad clashes with the Gators on the State diamond at 2:00. As yet Dutch hasn't announced the battery-for the game. The USF pitching staff is composed of seven men: Pat Maudsley, Ken Stone, Tom Pasalacqua, John O'Neil, John Sullivan, Bob McLaughlin and Denis Amundson. The catching chores are a toss-up between junior Bill Cutler and soph John McCauley. The infield is composed of Ray Williamson at first, Jim Barbeau at second and Kirkes at third. Shortstop is held down by George Cabral.

Behind the plate for the Dons in tomorrow's go will be sophomore Al Kirkes. He has moved in from the infield this season to take up the catching chores for Pete Palma, who was academically forced off the squad. Kirkes has turned in outstanding work to date in his new position.  (TheFoghorn).
