The USF Softballers haven't always provided their pitching staff with an abundance of runs, but the runs they've provided have been by way of the long ball. Senior catcher Annette Blandflord is leading the conference in home runs with two, and Dianna Albini is second with one. Blandford is third in the conference in runs batted in with six and Albini is fourth with four.
The Dons are a young team, stocked with seven freshmen, three sophomores, two juniors and two seniors. Of the seven freshmen, five are in the starting lineup. Handling the catching duties is Senior first team All-Conference selection Annette Blandford, who batted .292 last season. Blandford was also co-captain of the team and winner of USF's Golden Glove Award.
Catcher, Annette Blandford, who caught for Meyer at West Valley College, called a brilliant game, mixing up the pitches nicely. Annette was just as brilliant at the plate as she belted a towering home run far over the left fielder's head. She went 2-4 for the day, adding a double and collecting four RBI's (TheFoghorn).
