    Men's Golf (1965-1969)
A native of Kentfield, John Zimmerman played golf for the Dons and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelors in Finance. He was a member of Alpha Delta Gamma. He currently works as a Senior Vice President for Morgan Stanley in Napa, CA.

This year is the first that the NCAA has allowed freshmen to play on the varsity golf team and Coach Cleary is still thanking them for this allowance. It is now possible for frosh John Jew to compete and he has responded well. In his qualifying rounds he has shot a 75, 74, and a 72. He will probably be the number two or three man on the team. Following these two players will be Mark Avelar, John Zimmerman, Mike Collum, Jake Montez, and freshman Pat Murphy. These men will have to provide much needed help to Reid and Jew if the season is to be a success. This year's schedule is by far the toughest ever. There are matches against Fresno State, perhaps the number one golf power in the West, and San Diego State, another of the Western Golf powers. Also on the schedule are Stanford and Brigham Young University, as well as the normal WCAC competition (TheFoghorn).
