With the return of 1982 leading scorer Tor Sveen, along with freshman Mark DeCroce and UCLA transfer Greg Burns, the frontline is more potent than in recent years. With the addition of Helge Myrengett, Marko Lucchetta, and Bernie Murphy in the midfield, that was weakened by the graduation of Per Haugvaldstad and Vidar Larsen, the midfield should be steady as well. Steven Torkelsen, a freshman from Norway via Brooklyn, New York, will take over the sweeper's spot vacated by Erik Nielsen. The Dons have more stars. Back are midfielders Thierry Blanson and Rogert Magalhaes, who are both coming off their most productive years at USF. Steady Martin Ivarson, who anchored the defense last year after Nielsen went down with an injury, and Jan Helge Schifloe, who played up to three positions last year, signal that the Dons defense will be star-studded.

Finally, "Norway's finest" will spearhead the attack on the opposing goal. The three starters on the forward line who should pile up a lot ot points on the forward line are Tor Sween, Helge Myrengett, and Theo Narvestad, while freshman Olt Honmo will see action off the bench (TheFoghorn).
