Brandon Jensen played soccer for the Dons from 1996 to 1999, and graduated with a Bachelor's in Chemistry in 2000 from USF, and earned a Master's in Computer Science from Cal State University at Fresno in 2003.  He currently works at ThrivSports in Boulder, CO.

Unfortunately, the Dons luck against Fresno State did not accompany them to the opening night of the Santa Clara Classic Tournament last weekend. Maryland, ranked number twelve nationally, defeated USF 3-1 on Thursday Oct. 1. USF's Fabio Pires gave the Dons a 1-0 lead with a goal off a Brandon Jensen pass, but the match turned on the Dons when Maryland came rushing back with three goals in the second half. San Francisco had numerous scoring opportunities in the match, including Akerjordet's and Tim Garlick's dangerous shots which banged off the crossbar and bounced out.

The game was rough and tumble, with the larger Dons at times manhandling the small, but speedy Bruins. A perfect example of the intensity of the match was Brandon Jensen's "questionable" tackle, which literally flipped the airborne Bruin Ryan Futagaki just beyond the midfield line. The Dons, playing through what was becoming a fast-paced slugfest, settled down and took control away from the smothering UCLA defense (TheFoghorn).
