With the bitter came also the sweet, as the University enrolled Louis Anzore, 197 pound tackle from Sacramento Junior College. Anzore comes with the strongest recommendation of "Hack" Applequist, Sacramento coach, who has contributed to the Dons Vasco Pucci Jack Happe, and Tony Donadio among others.
Charlie Hale has always been brilliant whether playing a halfback or a quarter position. This year finds Charlie firmly established as the signal caller where his thumping blocks may also be used to greater advantage. Fischer, a made-over right half, is set to lead the interference. His bulk and rugged play stamps him as ideal for this spot. He will have much competition, however. The "battle royal" will be between Lou Anzore and Doug Stinson for the opening call at center. Both are big 200 pounders, with experience favoring Stinson. Both Benedettis are far above the average guard, although Eldon Shearing, the veteran, will be hard to beat out (TheFoghorn).
