George Benjamin Buksar was born on August 12, 1926, and was an American football fullback and linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Colts. He also played for the Chicago Hornets of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). Buksar played college football at Purdue University and the University of San Francisco and was drafted in the tenth round of the 1949 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams.

The Green and Gold scored early in the first quarter. Pietkiewicz slapped down Sheridan's shovel pass to Hall Haynes and fell on it on the 33. With George Buksar and Roy Barni alternating handling the ball, and one timely pass from Don Panciera to Pietkiewicz thrown in, U.S.F. drove to the 13th yard line, from where Buksar hit left guard for a touchdown.

The Greens showed some signs of life as the fourth quarter started. Greenhalgh completely fooled the opposing right end and secondary when he went back in punt formation from his own 14, faked the kick and ran 30 yards before he was cartwheeled to the ground by George Buksar, the last man in his path to the end zone. Greenhalgh, Matisi and Chintis then alternated to carry the ball to the two yard line line from where Greenhalgh powered into the end zone for the score (TheFoghorn).
