Jim Bedmar, who has proved himself to be a top goalie the past two years, returns along with Tim Brophy, who gained a lot of experience on the JVs this year. Other varsity men who are returning are George Tubman, Sal Iraheta, and Ed Duran. Just a few or the JV players who will be fighting for varsity berths are Rene Brimo, Jairo and Jose Granados, John Landolfi, Leslie Lezcano, Marcello Gumucio, Mauricio Salaverra, and Kent Steele.
Marcello Gumucio personally accounted for the next two Hilltop scores. His goals ended the third quarter and opened the final quarter.
Marcello A. Gumucio, senior mathematics major, was likewise awarded a National Defense Graduate Fellowship. He plans to use the fellowship at the University of Idaho, where he intends to major in mathematics (TheFoghorn).
