After his Degree in Business in 1978, Skaug earned a Master's in Finance at USF in 1980. Next at the Norwegian School of Economics, he earned a CEFA in Financial Planning in 1992; he is currently working in Oslo, Norway in Cybersecurity at Pone Biometrics. He played soccer for three seasons on the championship team under Coach Negoesco.

Joining ex-teammate Andy Atuegbu is Alex Nwosu, a multi-talented forward from Nigeria. Rounding out the new faces is Jan Erick Skaug who will team with Tronstad and Dahl in the defensive wall. "I can safely say that this will be the best team I've ever had at USF ever, though last year's squad won the national championship, this year's team will have depth, experience, size, quality and power," explains Coach Negoesco.

Coach Steven Negoesco added depth to his defense by using seven other defensive wizards, namely: senior fullback Misak Pirinjian, Junior All-American Andy Atuegbu, fellow Nigerian Tony Igwe along with the Norwegian line of freshman Jan Erick Skaug, sophomore Bjorn Dahl, junior Kjell Tvedt and senior Tom Tronstad. Although slightly slower than the Tigers, this eight man crew's size and skill shut off the opposition allowing them a mere 14 shots on goal and helping goalie Peter Arnautoff to his eighth shutout of the year extending the Don string to four (TheFoghorn).
