Cal got the winning run in the bottom of the eighth when Mike White singled home Tony Mascarin from second. The Dons' hopes rose when Walt Chapman tripled with one out in the ninth. Then Palma hit a sacrifice fly to center and Wend grounded out to short to end the rally. Roper, Myers, and Chapman, who had two RBI's, all collected a pair of hits for the Dons. Arnold Calonje was declared the loser (TheFoghorn).
