The Diamond Dons added some depth for the future by signing two Hawaiians and three Californians to their roster next year. Outfielder Matt Riordan from Thousand Oaks, CA may be the cream of the crop, having batted .560 last year, while finishing with a school record 47 hits. The two players from Honolulu are first baseman Keali'i Lum, who hit .461 with six home runs last year, and utility man Pat Walsh who hit .432 last year. All three players were All-State selections.
As a team, USF knocked out 10 hits for extra bases, including three home runs (Trumble, Soares, Bozied), two triples (Jason Heise, Foppert) and four doubles (Tony Hurtado, Delucchi, David Naber, Keali'i Lum). USF pitching stymied the Hornets and allowed just six base hits and the Dons bullpen recorded seven strikeouts (TheFoghorn).
