Tony "Snake" Sylvestri started the game by reaching first on a hit-by-pitch. Ted Langowski followed with a walk, and they were both put into scoring position by a wild pitch. Designated hitter Scott Rapposelli then stepped to the plate and knocked them both home with a hard single. The first inning scoring was concluded with a single by left fielder John Tomasello that scored shortstop Jon French.

The second game of the series was a pitching dual between the Dons Ardissone and Nevada-Reno's diminutive senior lefthander Junior Pro. Pro, who looks more like the equipment manager for the Wolfpack, was spotted an early two-run lead and carried a no-hitter into the seventh and final inning (the first game of double-headers are shortened). But with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, senior outfielder Jeff Wedge lined a pinch-hit double over first base to break up die no-hit bid. With the tension now broken, Pro settled down to record the final out and post the shutout. In the final game of the series, junior Scott Rapposelli drew a full-count walk with two outs and the bases loaded, to cap a furious rally in the bottom of ninth to give the Dons a 3-2 victory. The win gave the Dons their fourth win in their past five West Coast Conference games, all at home. Langowski pitched eight tough innings in the nightcap, giving up just three runs, and junior Tim Dilullo threw a scoreless ninth to record his first victory of the season. The Dons leading hitters are Langowski (.357, 2 HR's, 21 RBI's, 7-10 on steal attempts), Rapposelli (.294, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 4-8 SB's), and Sylvestri (.278, 1 HR, 20 runs, 20 walks). Sylvestri's recent hitting surge has been a pleasant surprise for the Dons (TheFoghorn).
