Front-liners Al Falconi, Ted Chun, Rudy Dangeil, Andrew and Charles Jezycki, Alex Labrador, Bernard McGinity and Paul Wedel, and backfielders Andy Conway, Ron Edgeman, Ray Gilmartin, Herbert Ho, Tom Klitzgaard, Rouben Tchakalian, and Antonio Romualdez comprised a squad which should supply the varsity with experienced talent in the seasons to come (DonsYearbook).
Coach Maurice Beattie's eleven showed improvement in their second contest, when they sneaked by Stanford on Rudy Dangeil's goal on a cross from Bernard McGinity. That marker came in the first five minutes of play, and both squads played on nearly even terms throughout the other three quarters. Tom Klitgaard equaled his performance of the State game, turning in a very adequate contest at fullback. Inside right Falconi, center half Conway, left half Ray Gilmartin, along with Edgeman and Herup, all turned in capable showings. Goalie Bill Herup played an outstanding defensive game against the aggressive Reds, turning back many scoring threats with his Cox-like coverage of the net. Donoghue Clears Bench Twelve members of the JV squad saw action during the second quarter of last Saturday's Santa Clara game. After the varsity had rolled up a 3-0 margin in the first quarter, varsity coach Gus Donoghue cleared the bench, giving all the men valuable experience.
