Foghorn Softball Correspondent Mike Rice's juggling act has been a smash hit so far this season, but unfortunately he will have to give an encore performance. Rice's softball team has been hit by several key injuries and the situation wasn't helped by having four players playing basketball. This week those four players, Gloria Smith, Mathaline Otis, Donna Price, and Granine Murray all rejoined the softball team. But now Rice has lost the services of shortstop Lori Grech, who is in the hospital with a bad back. To make matters worse, star pitcher Shelley Liebespeck suffered a slight injury in her shoulder that prevents her from throwing overhand. As a result, she can hit and pitch, but cannot play the outfield where she won All-Conference honors last year. Despite all this, USF's strong pitching held up and the Dons came into this week riding a four game winning streak that hiked their record to 8-2 (TheFoghorn).
