Head Coach Ken Bowman, entering his 10th year as the Diamond Don skipper, says his 1990 Dons are his "best team on paper ever." San Francisco will be starting six seniors and according to coach Bowman, "we will be a better team this year." The Diamond Dons look to improve on last season's 14-30 record. This record can be deceiving. Included in their 14 wins were victories over Stanford, then the defending National Champion, two victories over Santa Clara which all but eliminated the Broncos from postseason play, and a series sweep of Bay Area and West Coast Conference rival St. Mary's. The big question mark for the Dons this year could be pitching. The league has gone to a three game series format where in the past they played four games in a series. "This should really help us," says Bowman. "Considering the scholarships we have it's sometimes tough to match up with other teams."

The Diamond Dons have depth in the outfield with juniors Dusty Steenvoorde and James Wiggins, and freshmen Anthony Skikos and Tom Hinton to back up the starting three (TheFoghorn).
