The corners are as yet unproven in that Nakamura is a converted in- fielder and Heintzelman, a transfer from Phoenix Community College, is in his first year of division-I. Pat Walsh also looks to be a factor in the outfield, as he hit .419 with five homeruns during his senior year of high school and could be the sleeper. Others competing for time are rookies Jason Fetrow (.357 HS average), Keali'i Lum, a converted infielder, Jonah Martin (.467 HS) and Zach Ross (.474 HS average).
Ross batted and threw right, and attended Punahou High School in Honolulu. HS - 419 AVG, 5 HR, 24 RBI (TheFoghorn).
