Robert Edward Woodcock was born on February 5, 1959 and played baseball for the Dons as second baseman and shortstop. At 5' 10", 170 lbs., he batted and threw right. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 47th round of the 1982 MLB June Amateur Draft from USF.

The Dons scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning, when center fielder John Mangiante doubled home second baseman Bob Woodcock. Mangiante on the day would have two of the Dons six hits, and both RBIs off of Boever the ace of the Rebel's staff. The Rebels would waste no time in tying the game up in the bottom half of the inning, when third baseman Ron Manning brought home shortstop Jim Pace with a sacrifice fly. But as it turned out that was all the damage UNLV would do.

After all that, the Dons still weren't ready to give up, as they gave UOP a scare in the 9th and 4 runs. Gentile led off with a walk and one out later, moved to second on an error by the third baseman Green, who had replaced Madden, by moving to 3rd, on Woodcock's grounder. The Dons then loaded the bases on Miles infield single. After Wagner muffed Mangiante's grounder, Gentile scored the Dons first run. Eagleton, who also went 3 for 5 on the day, unloaded with a double to right field scoring Woodcock and Miles. Suddenly the Dons had the potential tying run at the plate in Mooney. Mooney hit a sacrifice fly to deep right center scoring pinch runner Mark McGuigan, running for Eagleton, to third. Corral then ended the game by popping up to third (TheFoghorn).
