Biography: Kigar was a member of both the cross country team and the track and field team on the Hilltop. She was a three-year team captain. Kigar was inducted into the USF Hall of Fame as a member of the 2009 women’s cross country team that won the university’s first-ever West Coast Conference cross country Championship. She was a sophomore during the historic season when the Dons held off Loyola Marymount by seven points to claim the WCC title. Individually, Kigar captured fourth place and earned All-WCC honors that season. And, at the NCAA West Regional Championships that season, the Dons captured their first ever top ten finish as a team, taking 10th place. That first conference championship proved to be the beginning of a dynasty for the Dons who would go on to win the 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 WCC Championship.

Favorite Momento: "I have a small female lion figurine on my desk that was a gift from one of my runners several years ago. That year, all the girls picked animals that they felt represented them and made them feel powerful. They said I was the lion – strong, protective and the leader of the pack."

Did You Know?: In her life, Kigar has run almost 25,000 miles – that’s more than one trip around the world. Most of those miles were run at USF, when Kigar was a member of the cross country team.

Life After USF: After she earned her undergrad Degree in Business Hospitality at USF, Kigar then earned her Master's Degree in Sport Management on the Hilltop. She started as the Assistant Athletic Director and the cross country Coach at Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland in 2014. She is also a member of the USF Hall of Fame Committee.
