GENERAL CAPSULE: Great offensive player... will compete for designated hitter and backup first base job.

NCAA REGIONAL (2006): Was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a hit-by-pitch against Nebraska... went 1-for-4 with an RBI versus Manhattan.

AT USF (2006): Played in 24 games with 10 starts... earned first hit as a Don with a double at New Mexico (3/19)... went 2-for-4 with a double, home run, and two runs against Portland(4/14)... also went 1-for-1 with a walk, two hit-by-pitches and two runs scored against the Pilots (4/15)... hit a pinch-hit double against eventual NCAA Champion Oregon State (3/29)... ranked second on team with eight hit-by-pitches.

AT COLLEGE OF MARIN (2004-2005): First Team Junior College All-American... led the state of California in batting average (.521) with nine home runs and 40 RBI... only struck out three times.

PREPCAREER: Played four years at Rancho Cotate... hit .420 his senior year... was named to the First Team All-League and First Team All-Empire for three years... only player to be named as the MVP of both the Adam Wescott and Al Rabinowicz Tournaments.

PERSONAL: Chris Bacigalupi... goal for the season is to know his role on the team and fulfill it to the best of his abilities...chose USF for the team and the great coaching staff... the best advice he's ever been given is that it's the little things that count... the most impressive person he's met is USC's head football coach Pete Carroll... hobbies include Mountain biking, golfing, listening to music and the outdoors... his favorite movie is Cocktail... parents are Jim and Pia Bacigalupi... born July 19,1983 in Santa Rosa, CA.

GIARRATANO ON BACIGALUPI: "Chris is a player who came on late in the season and provided some leadership for us. We look for Chris to give us some great at bats down the stretch in key situations."
