GENERAL CAPSULE: Very aggressive perimeter player... owns a variety of skills... combines excellent shooting range and good quickness to the basket... good defender with good instincts. 

2004-2005 SEASON (6.7 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 0.6 APG, 0.7SPG): Appeared in 21 games during her first season on the Hilltop... finished the season strong in the 2005 West Coast Conference Tournament, scoring a career-high 18 points on 8-for-15 from the field to go along with a season-high 4 steals against Santa Clara (03/03/05)... scored in double figures three times...poured in 16 points while going 7-of-8 from the free throw line against San Diego (2/12/05)... pulled down season-high six rebounds against Portland (02/19/05)... pumped in 12 points, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range against Long Beach State (12/09/04).

PREP CAREER: Enjoyed a terrific prep career,starring in three sports at Sunnyside High School... two-time Gatorade High School Player of the Year following her sophomore and senior seasons with the Wildcats... earned North Yosemite League MVP honors in 2004... Junior League of Fresno Female Athlete of theYear in 2004... Fresno Bee Basketball All-Star First Team in 2004... three-time North Yosemite All-League Award selection in both basketball and volleyball and won award in track and field...three-time Kerman Tournament MVP (2002-2004); Hoover High Holiday Classic MVP in 2004... three-time All-Tourney pick...served as team captain for the basketball and volleyball squads... honor roll student and a CIF Member for Life. 

PERSONAL: LaShaunte "Na' Na'" Stephens...goal for the season is to help the team win the West Coast Conference...chose USF because of the coaches, the team and the school is close to home...the best advice ever received is to be yourself, and don't let anyone change you...favorite quote is "Tough times don't last; tough people do"... favorite movie is Love and Basketball...favorite athlete isMichael Jordan...parents are Marvin and Yvette Stephens...born November 18, 1985 in Fresno. 

STRAIGHT FROM THE COACHING STAFF: "LaShaunte is a fun player to coach. She works extremely hard and gives a lot of energy on the defensive end. LaShaunte is improving her perimeter shooting skills. She is a tremendous driver and very aggressive. She is also very good in the open court. We are looking forward to a solid season from LaShaunte."
