Croatian National Team Player Set to Explore Professional Opportunities
(San Francisco) – Freshman guard Marko Petrovic of Zagreb, Croatia, has elected to leave the men's basketball program at the University of San Francisco to pursue a possible professional playing career in Europe as announced today by Head Coach Rex Walters.
"I'm sad to announce that Marko Petrovic has decided to leave the USF basketball program," USF Head Coach Rex Walters said. "Marko was a really good player for us, a good kid but he has opportunities to play professionally overseas and he wants to pursue them. We want to wish him nothing but the best of luck and we want to support him in his decision to play professional basketball (USFAthletics)."
Petrovic appeared in 25 games for the Dons in his first collegiate season, averaging 5.8 points 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 17.4 minutes per game.
