Derrick Mazariego played soccer for the Dons for his first two seasons until he suffered knee injuries, and graduated from USF with a Bachelors in Marketing.  At 5' 11", 160 lbs, he attended Las Lomas high School in Walnut Creek, CA. In 2019 he started in San founded Social Cre8tive, a San Francisco company that works with startups. 

Hard nosed defender who can play at center back or right side… wins the ball and keeps possession... solid marking defender.

PRIOR to SAN FRANCISCO: Comes to USF from Los Lomas High School where he lettered all four years… MVP and Defender of the Year… played for the Mustang Soccer Club for three seasons and helped lead them to 2005 U.S. Club National Championship and Super 4 National Champions…played four years in Olympic Development Program… played under Head Coach John Doyle alongside fellow Don Jeff Penna.

PERSONAL: Born May of 1989 in Martinez, CA… nicknamed “Maz”… favorite movie is “Escape from Alcatraz"... majoring in Business.

VISSER on MAZARIEGO: “Derrick is a very athletic defender who can play outside back or central defender. He gained a lot of experience playing for the Danville Mustang Club under former World Cup and USF star John Doyle.”
