HONORS & AWARDS
- WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention - 2020

**2020 (SENIOR): Made four appearances, first as part of a two-arm starting tandem with Landen Bourassa at the start of the year, and later as his own weekend starter as he built up on his return from injury ... Finished the year with a 2.89 ERA and a better-than 2-to-1 strikeouts-to-walks ratio (10 to 4) ... Had two scoreless outings, two innings at CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 23) and an inning versus Mount St. Mary's (March 3) ... His longest, and perhaps best outing of the season came on the road at Pac-12 Conference member California, where he worked into the fifth for the first time in his USF career, tied his USF career high with four strikeouts and only allowed one run, as the Dons went on to win the game in extras and clinch the series victory (March 8) ... After giving up two extra-base hits in his first appearance (Feb. 16 at CSUN), did not allow another one all season. Also only had one strikeout in that first appearance, but struck out nine over his next three showings, proving his growing strength before the season was cut short.

2019 (JUNIOR): Made four starts in his first year on The Hilltop before injury ended his season ... Made his USF debut later in the season on March 24 at San Diego, throwing 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball and only allowing one hit ... Longest outing of the year came at his former school, Santa Clara, where he threw four innings and only allowed a solo home run and a walk in an otherwise perfect outing with two strikeouts as the Dons won, 4-1 (March 31) ... Also threw 1 2/3 innings of shutout work in his start versus Saint Mary's, his last appearance of the year, a game USF would walk off to win in extra innings (April 14) ... Finished the year with an 0-1 record, 6.75 ERA and five strikeouts in 9 1/3 total innings pitched.

PRIOR TO USF: Played at Moorpark College for a season in 2018 under head coach Mario Porto ... Made 12 starts in 13 appearances ... Went 7-2 with a 2.44 ERA ... struck out 78 batters in 85 innings pitched ... Before Moorpark College, he played his freshman season of 2017 at Santa Clara University, where he appeared in 18 games with 12 starts ... Went 2-7 with 52 strikeouts in 71 1/3 innings pitched with the Broncos ... A graduate of Calabasas High School, Nechak went 9-2 with a 1.81 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 90.0 innings for head coach Thomas Cassidy and the Coyotes as a junior in 2015 ... He also hit .472 with 16 RBIs and a .548 on-base percentage as a two-way threat ... Calabasas High took second place in the Marmonte League and won a California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section Playoff game against Lakewood — the first Division I postseason win in program history ... Named a Cal-Hi Sports First Team All-State Underclass selection, as well as First Team All-CIF SS DI and First Team All-Ventura County ... He was also named MVP of the Marmonte League ... Was named a Preseason All-California Region Honorable Mention by "Perfect Game" as a senior in 2016 ... "Perfect Game" ranked him among the nation's top-500 recruits, including among the nation's best 500 right-handed pitchers and the No. 52 righty in California.
