Morgan was drafted by the Pirates in the 36th Round (1074th overall) of the MLB draft from USF in 2008.  He spent the 2007 season at Long Beach State University. 

Prior to LBSU: A CCCAA All-American outfielder who batted .363 as a sophomore with 40 runs, 10 doubles and 10 homers for Bakersfield College... also named first team All-Western State Conference and the Player of the Year... also earned All-Southern California honors... drove in 43 runs and had a .595 slugging percentage over 46 games... walked 22 times and stole 11 bases... as a freshman, was drafted in the 30th round of the 2005 draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers ... Was named Second-Team All-Conference, batting .313 with 11 doubles and six homers... had 25 RBI and 26 runs while producing a .528 slugging percentage... also stole seven bases... over two seasons, stole 18 of 25 bases.

SUMMER 2007 (Alaska Baseball League): Earned All-ABL First Team accolades after batting .354 with 11 doubles,two home runs and 13 RBI. 

AT BAKERSFIELD COLLEGE (2004-2006): Batted .370 with 10 doubles, 10 home uns, 10 stolen bases and 46 RBI his junior year... earned All-American,All-Southern California, and All-Conference accolades. 

PREP CAREER: Played four years of baseball at Liberty High School and helped team earn League Championships in 2002-2004...earned Most Outstanding Offensive Player in 2003-04... First TeamAll-League in 2003... Second Team All-Area in 2004.

PERSONAL: Kyle Morgan... nicknames are Mo or K-Mo... goal for the season is to be productive and consistent and do what the team needs him to do... chose USF for the coaching staff and the facilities... lists hunting and fishing as hobbies...likes San Francisco because it rains a lot... best advice he's been given is don't try and do too much, control only what you can...best advice he could give to youngsters is Tobacco is Wacko...would like to attend the National Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas...favorite sports hero is Ken Griffey Jr.... favorite movie is Tombstone... favorite musical artists are George Strait and GarthBrooks... favorite food is country fried steak and potatoes...younger brother Travis plays baseball at Bakersfield College...parents are Ken and Debbie Morgan... born on August 8, 1986.
