Biography: Mott played baseball for four years on the Hilltop and was a part of two West Coast Conference championships. He was a two-way player for Nino Giarratano as he pitched out of the bullpen as a left handed reliever, and also played in the outfield. He was the winning pitcher when the Dons defeated South Dakota State in the 2013 NCAA Regionals in Eugene, Oregon. Mott played four years of varsity baseball at Mission Prep High School in San Luis Obispo, and finished with a career 1.83 ERA and 154 strikeouts in 128 innings, while batting .404 as a senior and .447 as a junior. 

2009 SEASON: Appeared in 16 games out of the bullpen as a freshman... finished 0-0, 4.58 ERA with 11 strike outs in 17.2 innings... tossed 2.0 innings with two strikeouts in collegiate debut at University of Texas - San Antonio (2/21)...struck out a batter in 1.2 innings at Cal (3/4)... threw 1.2innings and struck out a batter against Gonzaga in the Palm Springs Tournament (3/8)... in a 2.1 inning outing, struck out one at New Mexico State (3/20)... threw season high 2.2 innings and struck out two at Bakersfield (4/1)... struck out one in 1.0 inning at Pacific(4/7)... threw 1.0 inning and struck out one at Loyola Marymount(4/9)... tossed 1.0 inning and struck out one batter versus Santa Clara (4/17)... struck out one in 1.0 inning at Stanford(4/27).

PREP CAREER: Played four years of Varsity baseball at Mission Prep... finished with a career 1.83 ERA and 154strikeouts in 128 innings... batted .404 as a senior and .447 as a junior... earned All-County Pitcher as a junior and All-County Outfielder as a senior... played three years of Varsity basketball.

PERSONAL: Born in May of 1990 in San Luis Obispo, CA... son of Hank and Margaret Mott... father Hank played baseball at Santa Clara, brother Bill played baseball at Santa Clara and for the Angels organization, brother Tom played baseball at Santa Clara and for the Twins organization, and sister Ann played volleyball and San Diego... goal for the season is to contribute to a championship and to attack on every pitch... chose USF for the coaching staff and the city... likes the diversity and uniqueness of San Francisco... would like to be Usain Bolt for a day... would like to live outside the United States after graduation... favorite movie is Dumb and Dumber... favorite book is Harry Potter... favorite musical artist is Lupe Fiasco... favorite food is steak... hobbies include surfing, basketball, and golfing... majoring in International Business.

Why Mott Chose USF: "I  chose USF for the coaching staff and the city. I really liked the diversity and uniqueness of San Francisco."

Favorite USF Memories: "I recall playing in the NCAA Regionals. I was the winning pitcher in our second game at the NCAA Regional in Eugene when we edged South Dakota State." Mott pitched 3.2 innings in relief, and did not allow an earned run, with two strikeouts, as the Dons won 4-3. 

Did You Know?: Mott comes from a very athletic family. His father Hank played baseball at Santa Clara, brother Bill played baseball at Santa Clara and for the Angels organization, brother Tom played baseball at Santa Clara and for the Twins organization, and sister Ann played volleyball at San Diego. 

Life After USF: After he earned his Bachelor's Degree on the Hilltop, Mott stayed at USF and earned his Master's Degree in International Studies. He pursued a career in the finance sector and is currently the Strategic Finance Manager at Huckberry in Austin, Texas.
