National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) squad Los Angeles Force signed Anteater defender McLaughlin as its newest in 2021. "This has been a dream of mine my entire life," noted the 'Eater' center back. "I feel blessed I was able to be in a place like UCI men's soccer that prepared me so well to take this next step in my soccer career."

A native of Folsom, CA, McLaughlin excelled on the club level training in Ireland and playing for Sac Republic Academy. He started his collegiate career off at the University of San Francisco playing 20 matches in two years there before transferring to UC Irvine.

McLaughlin chose to make the move to UC Irvine because he believed he could reach his potential in the classroom and succeed at the highest of his ability under the hungry and motivated staff with head coach Yossi Raz and the coaches. In his one season at UC Irvine, he played in all 19 matches starting 17 helping toward four clean sheets and assisting on goals offensively (UCIAthletics).

2020-2021 (Junior) at UC Irvine:
  • Played in all 19 matches for UC Irvine recording 17 starts
  • Played 1,454 minutes including eight full matches on the back line
  • Recorded first two career assists and points
  • First career assist set up Ricardo Ibarra's 40th-minute goal in a 2-2 draw vs. Gonzaga
  • Added an assist on Christian Gutierrez's 36th-minute game-winner vs. Cal Poly
  • Registered two shots
2018 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in 14 match ups and started in 12 … Logged a total of 1012 minutes … Took one shot on goal for the tie breaker against San Diego State on Aug. 26.

2017 (FRESHMAN): Made six appearances, including three starts…his first collegiate start came against UC Davis (Aug. 28)…made consecutive starts against Saint Mary’s (Oct. 21) and Gonzaga (Oct. 27), both were wins for the Dons.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played for Sacramento Republic Academy since 2015... helped Sac Republic make the 2015-2016 USSDA playoffs in their first season in the developmental academy... participated in the Nor Cal PDP program for four seasons... trained in Ireland with Coleraine FC.

PERSONAL: Born Mar. 19, 1999 in Sacramento... parents are Sean and Angie McLaughlin... has a younger brother named Dylan... plans to major in Kinesiology... aspires toward a professional soccer career after graduating from USF.
