Former Don Dana Klein joined the University of San Francisco cross country and track staff for her first year during the 2019-2020 campaign as an Assistant Coach and the program's Director of Operations.

Klein left her mark in the USF record books during her one season running track with the Dons during 2019. Outdoors, she made her first career appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships by qualifying in the 1,500 meters. She had qualified in two events for the NCAA West Region Preliminary Meet (1,500 and 5,000), and finished 11th in the 1,500 to advance. She ran five top-10 all-time marks at USF during the season in the 800, 1,500, 5,000 and two relays. She was part of the program's record-setting distance medley relay at the Drake Relays (11 minutes, 19.03 seconds), and the record 4x800 relay (8:40.61) on the same day. Klein also set a new program record in the indoor 3,000 meters (9:08.38) at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Seattle.

Before coming to San Francisco, Klein had an impressive undergraduate career at Yale University. Klein's multitude of talents showed in her career bests, where she ran everything from a 4:49.58 outdoor mile to a 20:49.8 in the 6 kilometers in cross country. During her career at Yale, Klein ran top-10 all-time marks for the Bulldogs in the indoor mile and 3,000, and the 3,000 steeplechase during outdoor track. Klein was also an important part of the Bulldogs' successful relay teams, helping the Yale 4x800 squad finish fourth at the 2016 Penn Relays, a victory at the 2018 indoor Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet, and two wins during the 2015 indoor season. She was also a big part of the Bulldogs' success on the cross country course, helping Yale qualify as a team for the 2017 NCAA National Championship after she grabbed a top-30 finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship.

Klein received her Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Yale University in 2018. She is currently finishing her Master's degree in Museum Studies at USF, graduating in December 2019 (USFAthletics).
