GENERAL CAPSULE:Â Emerged as a threat on the low block for USF after joining the basketball team in time for West Coast Conference play... four-year letter-winner on the Dons Volleyball team... versatile athlete with an outstanding work ethic.Â
MISCELLANEOUS:Â Won the 2006 Anne Dolan Award presented to USF's top female student-athlete... named to the Dons 30th Anniversary Team, honoring the top-18 players in program history... named team MVP as a senior... finished her volleyball career with 355 blocks - good for fifth place in the career record books.Â
2005-2006 SEASON (2.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.4 apg, 0.9 bpg):Â Appeared in eight games during West Coast Conference play... scored first points in the Green and Gold against San Diego (2/11/06), finishing with four points and three rebounds in first extended action...also had a career-high four blocked shots against the Toreros...enjoyed strong game at Santa Clara (2/17/06) establishing career-highs with six points and 10 rebounds (six offensive)...scored six points on 3-for-4 from the field in the Dons WCC Tournament semifinals appearance against Santa Clara (3/4), finishing with six points and three rebounds in 17 minutes.
VOLLEYBALL CAREER - 2002-2005 (811 Kills, 355 Blocks, .296attack %):Â Finished her standout volleyball career ranked first in attack percentage (.296), fifth in total blocks (355) and sixth in solo blocks (79)... Shorts established herself as one of the top middles in the elite West Coast Conference during her senior campaign, ranking among league leaders in multiple categories including hitting percentage (fourth), blocks (fourth)and points (ninth, 4.13)... averaged 3.13 kills on .357 hitting to go along with 1.18 blocks per game... her 138 blocks in 2005 were the third most in a single-season in program history... a four-time tournament MVP (three as a senior)... a two-time WCC Player of the Week... served as team captain as a junior and senior... competed on the Dons 2003 NCAA Tournament squad.Â
PREPCAREER:Â Enjoyed an exceptional career at Mead High School... four-year letter-winner for the Panthers in both volleyball and basketball... played club volleyball for the Spokane Splash.Â
