Biography: Perri played baseball for two years on the Hilltop. He was a power hitting infielder who put up impressive numbers in his two seasons wearing Green and Gold. Perri transferred to USF from Pepperdine, and after sitting out as a redshirt for a season, he had a terrific debut campaign for USF in 2017 as a junior. He started at second base in 54 of the 56 games in which he appeared, ranked fourth on the team with a .312 batting average, ranked among the top-10 in the WCC with 17 doubles, second on the team with five home runs and 40 runs scored, ranked third on the team with a .460 slugging percentage, and drove in 22 runs on the year. He followed that up with a stellar senior season hitting .336 with nine home runs, 22 doubles, 46 RBIs and 38 runs scored.Â
Did You Know?: Perri comes from a very athletic family. His dad played football at Fresno State; brother, Chris, played football at Colorado and then in the Canadian Football League, practice squad for the San Francisco 49ers and played in the AFL for San Jose Sabercats;Â brother, Jeff, played football at Malone University in Canton, Ohio.
Life After USF: Following graduation, Perri was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 21st round of the 2018 MLB June Amateur Draft. He advanced to the double A level with Springfield in the Cardinals organization in 2019. He currently works at at Twilio Inc.
