SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco's Bridget Dahlberg has been tapped as the WCC Women's Cross Country Player of the Month for November, announced today by the league offices.
"Bridget has been an incredible addition to our program, and was a big-time contributor to our team success this fall," coach Helen Lehman-Winters said. "She is one of the toughest competitors I have ever coached, and her successes this past cross country season show she is very deserving of this honor."
Dahlberg capped her lone cross country season on the Hilltop by becoming the second straight USF runner to win the West Coast Conference individual title, following up Eva Krchova's individual medalist performance in 2012. To open the month of November, the graduate student from Newton, MA, completed the WCC Championship course in 20:55 to earn the individual crown. The Dons raced to its fifth consecutive team title in Malibu, and Dahlberg was joined in the top 10 by teammates Maor Tiyouri (6th), Sophie Curl (8th), and Krchova (10th).
Following up her title performance, Dahlberg led the team at the NCAA West Regionals on Nov. 15, turning in a time of 20:11. Her mark was good for 21st place individually as she became one of three Dons to earn USTFCCCA All-West Region honors. After a fourth-place team finish at the regional meet in Sacramento, CA, USF earned its second trip to the NCAA National Championships in the last three seasons (2011).

At nationals, Dahlberg finished as the 78th woman in the field of 256, earning 56 team points for the Dons in Terre Haute, Ind.. She completed the soft and muddy course in extreme winds and low temperatures, clocking in as the second finisher for the Dons in the race with a time of 21:10.03. USF concluded the season as the No. 18 team in the nation, its highest final result in program history.
2014 TRACK & FIELD:Â Closed out her collegiate eligibility during the indoor track season ... finished 10th in the 3,000 meters at the Washington Invitational with a mark of 9:21.13 ... ran a time of 16:17.42 at the Husky Classic on Feb. 14 to take 16th place.Â
2013 CROSS COUNTRY:Â Took the title at the West Coast Conference Championships on Nov. 2, turning in a time of 20:55 ... helped the Dons to their fifth-straight WCC team title ... finished seventh at the Notre Dame Invitational clocking in at 17:13.95 to lead USF to a third-place finish ... ran a season-best 6K of 20:11 at the NCAA West Regionals en route to All-Region honors and a 21st-place finish ... ran the course at the 2013 NCAA Cross Country National Championships in 21:10.3 to help USF to 18th overall.
PREVIOUS SCHOOL:Â Competed for Boston College in cross country and track and field for four seasons ... owns the third-best 3,000 meter steeplechase time in BC history (10:16.44) ... Eagles finished 19th at the NCAA cross country national championships during senior season ... was BC's fourth finisher and 26th overall as the team placed 12th at nationals as a junior.
